If you haven’t checked out what’s so amazing about Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, head on over here to read more about it. (Seriously, do that first!) We truly loved all the animals, experiences, and unique places to explore; however, one of my favorite parts was the variety of photos I was able to snag. (Can I get a shout out from all the parents who obsessively take pictures of their littles?) Here are the most Instagrammable places at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, broken down by location.
The Zoo
With the more than 3,000 animals representing 400 species around the world, there are so many different animal photo possibilities. And when you factor in the various statues and signs, you’re sure to get an Insta-worthy photo.
The Aquarium
Some of the coolest pictures I’ve taken have been at aquariums. With various types of tank sizes, fish colors, and hues of lighting, the Riverbanks aquarium has multiple options. My favorites are usually the ones where Poppy is staring excitedly at something in the tank.
The Carousel
There are several attractions that would make great photo locations; however, I’m partial to the carousel. There’s something about the bright colors against the metal that brings me back to my childhood. I’ve also found that when I shoot using portrait mode, it makes it even better! The carousel is still recognizable in the background, but your little is the focus of the shot. Perfection!
The Statues
While taking pictures with a living animal is awesome, it’s also really hard to get both the animal and your little in the perfect picture. This is why I always take the time for statue photos. For a fun picture, have your little act like the animal!
The Garden
Now this is where I had the hardest time picking out my favorite locations! With such garden and flower varieties, you can truly turn any location into an Instagrammable moment. A big plus were the low crowd numbers. This gave us plenty of time and options when scoping out locations.
The Doors
Our favorite set of doors were the turquoise set in the Walled Garden. That pop of color gives it a tropical feel, and the brick and stone just add to the unique layout of the picture.
The Fountains
For those that have been following along with my posts, you know that Poppy is obsessed with fountains. This can make a good fountain picture hard to obtain, since she’s always a breath away from falling into the water. Well, the water feature, the toddler, and the weather all united this time for the perfect picture. This fountain is found in the center of the Walled Garden.
The Secret Garden
I’m not sure what it is about this location that I love the most: the intricate wrought iron gate, the lush greenery against the brick, or to ivy covering the wall. Either way, all of these aspects come together for a beautiful picture. This location can be found within the wall, and is an entrance/exit to the Walled Garden.
